Meet Zack
Every stage of my professional journey has built upon the last, giving me a multidisciplinary perspective shaped by journalism, strategic communications, public affairs, and organizational leadership. My career began in journalism, where investigative reporting, editorial leadership, national publishing, and strategic storytelling demanded precision, credibility, and the ability to communicate complex issues under pressure. That experience sharpened my instincts for strategy, accuracy, and decisive leadership.
Over time, my work expanded from reporting on change to helping drive it. Through health equity initiatives, public affairs campaigns, executive communications, media relations, and community engagement, I have translated complex policies into messages that build trust, increase public awareness, and strengthen connections between institutions and the communities they serve. Pursuing a legal education is a natural extension of that work—deepening my ability to interpret policy, navigate regulatory issues, manage risk, and advise leaders strategically. It is the logical next step in a lifelong commitment to informing the public, shaping meaningful dialogue, and leading with integrity and purpose.

My career has been defined by a steady expansion of influence—from telling important stories to shaping the strategies, messages, and decisions behind them. Journalism provided the starting point, strengthening my ability to investigate complex issues, communicate with clarity, and perform under demanding deadlines. Publishing leadership through Black Book Partners broadened that foundation, adding an entrepreneurial perspective and a deeper understanding of how ideas, institutions, and public narratives can influence communities.
That experience opened the door to leadership across strategic communications, public affairs, health equity, media relations, community engagement, and executive communications. Each chapter expanded the scope of my work and strengthened my ability to guide organizations through complex issues, build public trust, and connect institutional priorities with community needs. Legal education adds a powerful new dimension to that trajectory, bringing communication, policy, strategy, and leadership together while expanding my ability to navigate regulatory frameworks, manage risk, and advise leaders at the highest levels.
